crossbow/bomb aimming stuck

When ever i press and hold the middle wheel button for either a bomb toss or crossbow shot Geralt just seem to stuck in the "aimming" position and everything freeze i can still access menu.

The quick tap on the middle wheel button for auto aim still work the game only freezes when i press and hold to aim. I have already check the integrity of the game file and have tried reinstalling, also tried un-equip and re-equip me crossbow and bombs and check that my key binding is correct.

anyone have and idea/suggestion for me to test to see if we can fix this problem?

Yes of course it do's lol u can even increase the duration with a perk form the skill tree, it's 100% NORMAL if a little odd looking, you soon get used to it... If u look closely if u select a new sugn with the mouse wheel, it also slows down..

Personally it's why i only use Quick aim, lol more then sufficient for 95% of the time

I am not talking about the perk skill that slow down during aimming, seems like some kind of bug that when ever i aim it Geralt will get stuck in place with the aimming cursor still around and everything freeze, i cant spin the middle wheel to change sign, i can still eat potion and food but thats about it

lol of course u cant spin the middle wheel to change the sign, lol ya holding the middle wheel to cast your bomb, which activates the slow time, it's on as standard, You could always rebind the keys though.

I beleave u can swap signs with a keyboard press too, but I dunno what that is....

I am having the same issue, when I press and hold the RB button on my gaming pad connected to my computer, the game freezes up. I can use the mouse to look around but have to Alt+Tab out of the game and exit to the Main Menu before I can continue. I have verified the integrity of the game and have graphics quality set to low.

Sadly i have already given up on finding the solution, i have reinstalled the game(with and without mods) tried to revert back to pre-next gen update version, ensure my graphic card is the latest version. Nothing work.

If you ever found out what is wrong that is causing this kindly reply to this discussion so i might try it and see if it work so i can experience the world of witcher again

what happens when you change the key-bind from it to some other one does it still freeze?

I cant really help as I cant replicate this issue no matter what I try and I already tried a lot of ways in every version of game with mods.

if you cant aim with the middle button as someone said you can still progress by just clicking it once which auto targets the crossbow and bombs.

I would still try deleting user-settings and .bak in documents usually something is corrupted there if you have this kind of issue.

but are you on dx 12 or dx 11 ? or you have same issue on both versions?

From my previous reply, if i remember correctly, i did try on both dx 11 and dx 12,
Also auto bomb/crossbow still work as long as long as its within the first sec.
If my memory serve me correct pretty sure i have also already delete the .bak user settling.

Thanks for the reply if i ever have a witcher craving again i might give it a shot again at the troubleshooting process

Necro bump, but I was encountering the same issue, it is tied to the Lightning Reflexes perk which slows time when aiming crossbows, I have it maxed at level 3 and I simply get stuck, no matter how long I wait Geralt will not fire the crossbow. Removing this perk Geralt aims, and shoots true. I cannot confirm if it's because it's >100% time slow (150% at level 3) and I do not care to wipe all my invested skill points to find out.

This also occurs with the Steady Aim skill when slotted, also have this at level 3, again unsure if it occurs with lower levels of this skill and won't be testing to find out.

I am on Patch 4.04, have only tested in DX12 as that's what I play on primarily. I don't believe it's any mods I have installed as none touch skills directly, the closest I have is SlotsSlotsSlots and that's, at it's core, simply just giving more skill slots with minimal changes to `playerWitcher.ws` script and modifications to the `character_panel.swf`

I believe after another round of testing that the main cause is the slowing down perk when geralt aim, previously i have a mod that activate all perks so after removing that mod and both bomb and crossbow perks i was able to solve the problem. Thanks
