RedLauncher Issues
Hey all, I'm trying to run the game on a new laptop but I'm having problems getting it to boot. When I click play the tab for redlauncher comes up in the tool bar, and when I mouse over the centre of my screen the cursor changes like I can click on something, but the launcher is not displayed.

I have tried randomly clicking around to find the play button but just keep getting articles. Is anyone else having these issues and does anyone know a way around them?

maybe the launcher is trying to use the settings from your old computer.
go to folder Documents\The WItcher 3
then delete or rename or move somewhere else all the .settings files
steam verify game then try the game again
You could just bypass the launcher like most of us do. Hit steam/the witcher 3/manage/properties/general tab/Launch Options. Add the following command;

--launcher-skip -skipStartScreen

probably because the game itself wont start because of some issue - missing library, antivirus, permissions, mods

go to the steam game then the bin folder.

run x64/witcher3.exe for the dx11 version
run x64_dx12/witcher3.exe for the dx12 version

hopefully an error msg will pop up

also check windows event viewer and windows reliability history
might be a game crash event or system related errors

My game does not have any mods, I disabled the antivirus and it still continues. I tried to run it from the bin folder, but it gives the error "0xc0000007b", I did a procedure to repair this error, but it continues, note that I have several games on my PC, but none of them give this error. When I checked the reliability of Windows, I noticed that it appears that the Red Launcher had a critical event and stopped working.
in the reliability history window, right click on the events for technical details
exception code can be looked up on web for solutions

so both dx11 and dx12 give the same 0xc0000007b error?

did the game create folder
Documents\The Witcher 3
should contain files profile.settings user.settings and dx12user.settings since you tried both

The error "0xc0000007b" only appears when I try to start it with witcher3.exe which is in the bin folder.

so both the launcher and one of the two games produce an Exception Code: c0000005

game requires DirectX jun 2010, vc redist 2012, vcredist 2013, vcredist 2019
which "should" be installed by the game. you can manually download from MS and install/repair with admin permission. if already installed, use the repair option if available. or the files/libraries/installers should be in your steamworks shared folder.

open a command prompt with admin permission and run these commands to check windows system files

sfc /scannow
dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

(sfc scans and repairs Windows system files
dism fixes corrupt files in the Windows system image, use it when SFC can't repair files)

you can web search "Exception Code: c0000005"
there are a lot of suggestions even reloading windows
