Can't Continue in Beast of Toussaint??

I'm currently on the quest Beast of Toussaint and I'm on the part where you follow Milton to the riverbed (very early on in the quest, right after killing the giant). After killing the skurgers (however you spell it, the exploding enemies) it tells me to examine the area with my Witcher Senses. However, the area that I'm supposed to examine isn't highlighted red, so I can't examine it. I've reloaded many saves, even going a couple hours back and it still won't highlight. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, tried that a bunch. The hankerchief with the d.l.c won't appear until you get past the stage I'm stuck at.

Yea I have a few mods but none that should be that game breaking. I removed all of them and still had the same issue. I'm using auto apply oils, no fall damage, HD Reworked, Always Full Exp, and Fast Travel from Anywhere

Is there any fix for this? Cannot continue.
