Places of Power in NG+. Some give ability points. Some don't

This is my first NG+ game. I've been hitting all the places of power in White Orchard before I move on. So far, 2 of them have given me an ability point. Two of them have not.

I have no idea why or what makes the difference. Anyone know?

U only get 1 point per stone per game, is why, they should be greyed out on the map, if you've visited them.

Thanks I do realize that you get one point per place. But This was NG+ so technically none of them had been used.

But the map tip -- Duh I should have thought of that.

Just tried again at two that didn't give me ability points. This time they did. It's odd, they gave me the "charge" before without giving me the ability point. I didn't realize it was possible to get one without the other.

Nor did I, i always assumed u got the boon and perk, when u used 1.. I have over 1k500 odd hours

Yes, the places of power can be a little finicky at times. Try it a couple times until you get the ability point.

The places of power have always been like that, not only on NG+. I've just passed the place of power in that cave where Keira gets the Magic Lamp, and it only gave me the ability point the second time I sat down by it. The only difference was that the first time there was an enemy nearby (the golem), while the second time I was on my way out of the cave.

the place of power also often bugged out by if you run to it and press e to interact with it , the interact button tip sometimes stays after pressing and then when you meditate near the place of power you dont finish it, so you have to press again until the tip to press disappears, and sometimes it bugged out with the points for me as well
