How to restart The Witcher to default settings?

I have a problem. I own The Witcher 3 and I used to install different mods to it, so every now and then there were small or big bugs in the game, that I would like to eliminate. I somehow uninstalled these mods, but there are probably some files left in the game, so I would like to restart my game to factory settings. I played this game a long time ago, so I don't care too much about achievements, saves, etc. The remnants of the fashions, I think, are gonna ruin my fun. Do you know how to do that? I tried to find something, but mostly I found queries about how to delete achievements on Steam, which I'm not really interested in. I beg for help! 😭 I've already reinstalled the game, I don't want to do it again.

Jak zrestartować Wiedźmina do ustawień domyślnych?
Mam pewien problem. Posiadam tego ''Wiedźmin 3'' i zdarzało mi się do niego instalować różne mody, przez co w grze raz na jakiś czas pojawiały się małe lub duże błędy (nie mogłam przejść jednego zadania z Triss np.), które chciałabym zniwelować. Odinstalowałam jakoś te mody, ale pewnie jakieś pliki jeszcze w grze zostały, więc chciałabym zrestartować tego mojego Wieśka do ustawień fabrycznych. Ograłam już dawno tą grę, więc nie zależy mi zbytnio na osiągnięciach, save'ach itp. Pozostałości po modach myślę, że zepsują mi ponowną zabawę. Wiecie jak to zrobić? Starałam się coś znaleźć, ale głównie znajdowałam zapytania o to jak usunąć osiągnięcia na Steam, co mnie niezbyt interesuję. Błagam o pomoc! 😭 Robiłam już reinstall gry, nie chcę tego robić ponownie.

1)

Go to steam click uninstall on witcher 3

2) go to file explorer that windows have

3) go to steam /steam apps/common and delete The witcher 3 if there is any such folder. (search for old mods managers and script mergers and delete those as well in disk C or disk you have them on)


4) go to documents / Witcher 3 and delete all

5) exit , and open disk Cleanup , run as admin , and clean temporary files.

6) restart pc

7) go to steam install again

8) start new game , new save , and overwrite your old cloud save if you have any.

9) go to documents / witcher 3 / and delete user settings and . bak , and dx12 user settings.

10) exit , and enter game, it will create those files again to default values, so enter settings in game and change everything again, load a new save and overwrite again.

11) you done.

12) to use mods again install script merger and follow mods instructions on nexus.




a faster less efficient way is to just do step 4) and 8) , 9) 10) ignoring the other steps

usually its enough but I would recommend doing all steps to make sure you dont have old leftover files.
