Cooking and fishing

Considering that at higher difficulty levels you need to eat to regain health (meditation isn’t enough) does anyone else think they missed a trick by not expanding the crafting/harvesting system to include fishing and cooking?

Yes it's strange to not be able to cook with cooked meals in loot or in inns. I'm following this potential addition. ^^

Not really - once you get swallow and a decent supply of Alcoholest or just get the T2 Quen upgrade, health food becomes pretty irrelevant.

They could have even done cooking in a similar fashion to blacksmith and armorsmith. Bring your raw ingredients to an innkeeper and have them cook your stuff up. Could even have had small buffs from the cooked food.

Alcohol is cheap and refills your swallow potion so it's pretty easy to regain health. I would also like to cook meat etc...

First time I picked up a fishing rod, I really thought I could start fishing. But nope!
Anyway if you play the harder difficulties, you should definitely get the auto regen skill.

I spent a point on that and didn't use it for longer than about 20 minutes. The regen is far too little to justify a point that could be better spent. The Alchemy line is crazy strong. My Swallow lasts almost a full minute already and heals me for 10% or more of my Vitality immediately. I've got more alcohol than I'll ever use and I keep finding more. The chances of me needing Sun and Stars is not just unlikely, it's laughable to think I ever took it in the first place.
