How do I get more, other than paying 500 gold for it. Is there a mob that drop or can it be crafted from something?

As far as I know, I've been getting it from wraith. Currently trying to find some since I need another.

Yeah you can get it from Wraiths, buy it, or dismantle it from an Emerald.

Speaking of wraith, I'm trying to hunt some down in the first area. One of the jerks I found in a tomb disappeared on me when he was a few hits from death. Pissed me off.

You need to go inside the tomb, and that wraith re appears and not with full health.

There are 3 wraiths in the first area, one at the tomb, one at the well, and one at a place of power. In my experience the Well wraith always drops an emerald dust, but the other 2 wraiths do not always drop them.

Believe it or not the wraith inside the tome did appear (injured as you mentioned) but during my fight with him he ran to the entrance, went poof and I never saw him again.
