Twisted Firestarter bug?

This is the very first mission I got in the game and I am already stuck. I chose the fighting option and I only do 5 damage per hit to Pann. His life does not seem to decrease very much even though he hits me for 400 damage every time. How many hits are we supposed to be landing on him? I can not even flee the fight nor load an older save.
