Will My GTX 880m run The Witcher 3 on decent settings?
I'm trying to decide whether to get this on PC or PS4, purely for performance reasons. I have a:
i7-4700 @2.4 ghz, 24 Gigs of Ram, and a GTX 880m. Anyone trying this game out with similar specs? What frames and settings should I expect?

I have a 660 and run almost everything on ultra at 1440. The frame rate is mostly pretty smooth. 880 will run it perfectly. XB1 ports ftw.

Seriously, just google your graphics card against the minimum required graphics card and check the benches.

Sorry, spent too long alt tabbing from game to forum today and seen so many same questions.

You should be grand, hope you enjoy if you decide to go for it.

I have literally have the exact same laptop as you and I think you'd be better off with playing it on here. If you're fine with playing capped at 30 fps with V-sync it's a rather smooth experience. And at first I was bothered with everything looking like an oil painting, but you have to know what to tweak. I can't exactly remember my settings but it was something along the lines of
Shadows - Medium
Texture Quality - Ultra
Terrain Quality - Ultra
Water - Medium
Detail Level - Low (It's only for blood decals and other things)
Grass Density - Low
Foliage Distance - Medium

Then they have a settings for Post Processing effects. I turned them all off except for Bloom and Light Shafts, with Sharpening on Low. Also, a MUCH needed tweak is the download from the SweetFX thing. You NEED the "1,000 times better Witcher 3 preset" thing. It makes the coloring slightly more darker and makes the foliage and everything SO. MUCH. BETTER. The game looks amazing and I know the settings seem high but it's an incredibly smooth experience. Just don't hope to stream or anything. Happy gaming!

Thank you for your answer !

I'm sure you can run it no prob. I'm playing it on an 860m. Resolution set at 1600 x 900, all the post processing on and everything else at med and high. So an 880 should be just fine. Enjoy, it's a great game!

I have a 780M and can run at low/medium settings 30-35fps. No very good so I bought on PS4, plays better than my laptop.
Coin 29 MAY 2015 a las 21:33
Yea it should run decent on settings higher than min.

Ultra at 1440p with a 660? You're funny....

I'm a 860m user here, get a typical fps of 20-30 when out in the world, 40-60 fps in everything else. The settings I have my game setn to is this. Which seems like the best settings for this game for my gfx card people.
