Crash after 10-15 min

I can play for about 10-15 min then nvidia driver crashes and turns off both of my screens, making me having to hard reset. I have the same issue with GTA V on DX11 mode which still has NOT been fixed.

Setup:
Screens - 1x 34" 3440x1440 Samsung QHD curved + 1 34" ASUS 2560x1440
CPU = i7 5930k
RAM = Corsair 32GB DDR4
MB = ASUS X99 Deluxe
GFX = ASUS GTX 980 STRIX
OS = Win7 x64

Found my FIX (second worked for me):

1) completely uninstall the drivers using DDU software
2) then reinstall new drivers

----- NVIDIA control panel -----
- Set power options in NVIDIA control panel to max performance
- Force VSYNC in panel
- Threaded optimization = On
- max prerendered frames = 1 (to help w micro stutters)
----- in Game -----
- set frames to unlimited
- vsync off
- foliage to medium

all the rest is high / ultra, even hairworks, played over an hour straight no problems crashing so far.

If you are experiencing crashes, some settings that you might want to are VSync "Off", Display Mode "Fullscreen" and Maximum Frames Per Second "Unlimited".

If crashing persists, deleting the original shortcut and creating a new one, as well as removing any custom GPU overclocks have also been known to help!

Turning off v sync did solve my inventory crashes,il wipe and re-install the gog version and see if it changes anything.The hardware cursor thing il be unticking also from what ive read as that has a chance of fixing it.
Im hesitant to drop my clock speeds but il give that solution a go as a last ditch effort.the crashes are sooo frustrating.The only decent action-rpg to come out in years for me and it has these problems.typical.

Same here - setting FPS to unlimited and in-game vsync to 'off', then using the Nvidia control panel Vsync to compensate, has extended my play time substantially. no crashes after 2 hrs. hope this helps out a few other people!
Still frustrating, though, since it means adaptive vsync is out (which is the mode I prefer), as well as the 30 fps limit. (for those with lower powered machines, 30fps at ultra might be more fun than 60fps on medium, and I think 30fps looks better/more consistent on an HDTV from the couch).

I managed to get 4 hours play from re-installing before it crashed on a cutscene,if the crashes stay this rare then il just wait for a patch.

I did a clean install of the drivers. (the drivers doesn't crash during the game but while I use google chrome -_-)

I disabled Nvidia streamer service (http://www.dsogaming.com/news/nvidia-shield-streamer-service-impacts-performance-by-3-6-disable-for-extra-fps-boost-in-games/)

I changed the settings in the user.settings (Documents/The witcher 3)

I turned Hairworks on just to see the difference between visuals, and it caused "display driver crash" everytime I would go into a town or area with lots of hair physics. When I turned it off, I played a couple hours and had no crashing.

Don't use hairworks until they have these crashes patched I guess.

Please downland and install the 1.03 patch and check if the issue persists.
It is advised to update the game using the Galaxy Client:
http://www.gog.com/galaxy

You can also download the patch from your account:
https://www.gog.com/account
and install it manually.

Please check if the issue persists if you lower the graphics settings.

Please also try disabling VSync, turning hardware cursor off and setting the framerate cap to unlimited.

Switching between fullscreen and borderless windowed mode might also help.

Installed the patch (bought via GoG) and it won't launch now.
Didn't notice the patch until I crashed a little while ago. Was playing for an hour or so, just fine.

Game freezes for a second, then my screen goes black. Gotta hard reset my computer to get everything working. Hope a patch comes out ASAP, I want to play. -.-

Intel i7-4790k, 16gb DDR3 1800mhz ram, MSI GTX970, all drivers up to date and I am getting the same problem. Black screen followed by the game crashing. Has happened 3x since the new patch, happened maybe 4 or 5 times in 30 hours of gameplay before todays patch. I did crank up the settings since the recent patch tho.
