Edit:
Animations done with MoCap.
Yes but that explains animations... But those figures look like human beings!
It's called talented artists!
You thought those CGI were impressive?

Real time render in-engine cutscene, much higher quality. He showed this by rotating the camera, change the lighting by the changing time of the day, zoom in zoom out.
In 2001 they used a computer farm to do this, nowadays they used only 4 x Titan X SLI.
It's not surprising. Technology is moving at a very, very fast rate. Any group of talented people can achieve that and have life-like quality images. They just lack the resources to do so.
You mean you can say the girl isn't a real woman when she turns to the camera? I really can't, and I find it impressive.
What I meant is that while the CGI pre-rendered trailer for Witcher is certainly good, perhaps because seeing so many great CGI pre-rendered trailers have made me not overly hyped after it. If you look at Agni Philosophy, that was real-time rendered by a game engine and that was in 2012 on Direct X 11, and Witch Cry which is NVIDIA and SE showcase for Direct X 12, which is again real-time rendered before professionally touched up like Witcher trailer. I find that far more impressive, and Square's originally planned for digital actress back in 2001. You know, digital actress, as in a 100% artificial. If you saw the Animatrix, they included her in one scene where she blended in with real human and that was ages ago.
Gotta get dem console monies!
