The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

What might be the Witcher 2 canon ending for Witcher 3?
Just as the question is asking, what might be canon for Witcher 3? As in what might be the default events and story for those who will not be importing their Witcher 2 saves.

Also, will there be bonuses, such as the dark armors being imported with your TW2 saves, just like how the raven armor gets imported from TW1 save?

None of the games are canon as regards the books, so anything goes.

You can alter certain parts of Witcher 3 by entering into a certain conversation near the start of the game- there is no 'canon' way to play the previous game.

No items carry over + I think that if you don´t carry over your save, you will be given questions about your past, so there is no real Witcher 2 canon ending.

Witcher 2 had a conclusion?

I'm thinking he spared Letho, although I didn't in my playthrough. Letho did take care of his love interest which is a pretty big deal and they were once friends, not to mention he did spare Geraldt in the initial fight. He could have killed him there.

I mean as in canon for the games. There were multiple endings for TW2, but which ending will TW3 pick up from, for those who won't be using a save import? That was my question, which would be asking then, what is the 'canon' ending for TW2?

None.
There is no real canon ending. Sometime in the main quest of Witcher 3, you can choose whatever you want to be canon.

Ahh I see.
So will you still be making those choices if you were to import a save?

There will be the opportunity to tailor the game as you see fit within the first few minutes, so I'm not sure if there even is a default state.

I'm not sure. You probably can still choose whatever you want to be canon.

Afair the choices in W2 have no real impact on W3. Lets see:
- Triss: get saved by Geralt or Letho so she is alive anyway
- Shila de Tankaville: can be rescued or killed so she's not important
- Letho: the same as Shila
- help the terrorists or the king agents: no impact on anything

The important points of the W2 story:
- 2 dead kings
- Nilfgard invade the kingdom (last scene of the game)

Shila, Letho and so on were only needed to let the war begin, after that they don't have any importance.

Now thinking about it, it might seem that my actions from TW2 will have little to no affect on TW3 story. Temeria is divided between Redania and Kaedwen, while the Pontar Valley is ruled by Saskia and Stennis has his Aedirn.

About Letho
Letho is a big help in the fight on Kaer Morhen if you don#t kill him and invite hin after the Quest with him to Kaer Morhen

About Sile
If Sile don't die in W2 you have the chance to meet her in W3, but she was captured and tortured. So you have to decide if you kill her or if Yen will do it

Alright, so so far I've noticed saving Triss had no impact - the witch hunts are still on. Sile's journal entry in TW3 updates like she was in the game - even if you let her die in TW2. Some of Roache's dialog, like "You never let me down before..." suggests the script acts like you went with him (I had chosen Iorveth from my imported save). Iorveth and Saskia aren't mentioned at all/possibly in passing. The only bit that seems to really impact the game as far as your choices are if you killed Letho and/or Aryan.
