Who are better the Northen realms or Nilfgard?
Both realms well have their flaws one is full of pompus ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and the other ones is full crappy ♥♥♥♥♥♥. For example the northen realm people have a horde like mentality and swear like its a competition of who can say more profanities in a conversation. On the other hand Nilfgardians do not swear but they are very arrogant and are snubs.
In the first 2 games I thought the Northen realms were the better realm with the better people but now I am not that sure. Who do you all think are better?

Nilfgaard by far to me. Non-humans aren't treated like garbage, and for better or worse the ruler isn't as much of a psychopath as most of the Northern Realm rulers were/are. I can identify with Emyhr on a lot of levels.

Sure, they force labor on peasants and slavery is legal. I'd rather have that than subjecting towns and cities to mass genocides for the current scapegoat like you see practically everywhere in the north.

Nilfgaard. More professional army. Brilliant (not insane) ruler. Tolerance. Seem more educated. But I feel bad siding with Nilfgaard because Roche was such a bad ass in TW2

Nilfgard is stronger both in economical, cultural, and technological than the northen kingdoms. Also having the benifits of being a empire rather than a kingdom you can have better control over your provinces and dukes.

Why?Is it not having a larger realm harder to control?

Nilfgaard is the best kingdom. By far in the witcher 3 Emhyr isn't crazy as Radovid and isn't a murderer like Djikstra, so you should help them.
Radovid Kills every none human, while Emhyr treats them equaly.

My opinion? Nilfgaardians.

Northerners are extremely racist. In addition, their culture and land are fragmented to an extreme degree. Even those who should be allies can't coexist, which ultimately just makes the war effort against Nilfgaard even more futile. If they had the engineering of the dwarves and the guerilla ingenious of the elves at their disposal, as well as the power of the mages, they could easily destroy Nilfgaard. But no, all of those people are prosecuted and burned in the name of religion, and the people go along with it because they're uneducated and easily manipulated.

In Nilfgaard, mages and nonhumans are free to roam. They are mostly nonviolent, as long as countries they invade agree to accumulate their language. The biggest gnomish city in the witcher world is in Nilfgaard, for example. As long as you don't ♥♥♥♥ with them, Nilfgaard isn't that bad. Nilfgaardians are also educated, which gives them the appearance of being arrogant in comparison to the average northerner citizen, but most of them are fair people who prioritize order above all else. I would rather have limited freedom that's actually freedom than the illusion of freedom that amounts to no freedom at all.

Under Foltest, I might have sided with the North, but considering it's current state, it's Nilfgaard all the way for me as it currently stands.

Nilfs are much better, and lands actually prosper under them. Not to mention that Radovid is a nutjob.
Kain Jun 8, 2015 @ 11:08am
FOR TEMERIA!!!!

What was so great with Foltest didn't he ♥♥♥♥♥♥ his sister?

I'll do everything I can to restore Temeria, the greatest realm in the North. Henselt despite being a bastard could have helped with a lot of stuff, unfortunately the devs decided to ignore everything and just kill him and give power to that idiot Radovid.

Does it has anything to do with being a good or a bad ruler?

Because he seemed to be so in love with his sister that he did not get married and had legitimate children which by the way its very important to a realm. For example what happens to his oldest daughter if you save her in witcher 1?

True, he was the most powerful ruler by far, besides, he loved his sister and treated his children as royalty, not caring that others saw them as simple bastards. His, morality regarding siblings surely is, well, different, but he's a great leader and king.
