Protip for Restoring Stamina (out of combat)
I prefer to run everywhere on foot rather than horse (save for long distances), and through this I found a way to easily restore your stamina while you're running so you don't have to stop, let it refil (albeit quickly) and start running again.

While running, simply jump. By virtue of being off the ground, your stamina quickly replenishes because it assumes you're no longer running. In truth you're still moving forward, somewhat, but the game doesn't care so long as you're not running. You don't even have to take your finger off the run button!

Now to note, jumping does consume a small amount of stamina, so if you try to jump when your reserves are low, it may end up depleting and you'll have to slow down regardless. I suggest jumping when you're at about 30-40% stamina left.

On a flat surface, running forward, a single jump restores more than half of your bar. Downhill it will refill entirely due to more air time. Uphill, conversely, doesn't work as well but still restores a large portion.

I've found that just repeatedly tapping the run button every 1 second or so gives you infinite stamina and Geralt does not slow down appreciably either, enabling you to run as long as you like.

You can just run for several seconds, then let go for 1 second, then run again to maintain speed as well as stamina. Same tactic to use in Red Dead Redemption for infinite galloping with timing button presses to every 2 or 3 seconds.

Witcher III has professional players?

News to me.

True, but in that method you have to slow down, although briefly. By jumping you don't have to slow down and you get in some much needed practice toward Geralt's basketball skills.

Yea, but then you have that massive amount of toxicity to deal with, limiting your potion usage, unless you've upped your threshold.
