best way to kill a chort?

im stuck on this quest im a lvl 15 fighting a lvl 20 chort, should i come back later?

Quen + Igni + dogde = easy kill

You don't need to level up.

Quen, lots and lots of quen. Single heavy strike, followed by a dodge to the right, rinse and repeat. And moon dust bombs if the regen is too quick to keep up.

level up a bit, try to be two levels around it if on higher difficulties. Proper oil, poison bombs to stop its auto-healing, dodging and lots of it, Quen just in case.

This was one of the monsters I (rather stupidly) chose to fight without any potions, oils, signs, etc, for the achievement. This was the chort in the cave, where there's limited space. He often ends up standing with his face to the wall after a charge, so I mostly just rolled a lot and tried to get 1 or 2 swipes in when his back was turned, but chorts are very, very quick with the counter, so it was definitely hit and run. As MasteR said above, bleeding effect helped a lot, plus liberal use of crossbow to negate his admittedly miniscule healing effect.

thats the one im fighting, hes really hard lol
