how do you use a item in pocket, like the bell?

I am in the mission where you have to ring a bell to get a sheep/goat to follow you, and I can put the bell in my pocket, but I dont know which button on the keyboard "uses" the bell...I've tried the wheel on my mouse, and it just controls my magic powers...anyone help me on this? it seems I am stuck unless I can solve this mission

Equip it in one of your quick slots, tab, select it and middle mouse button to use.

You need to use Tabs and equip it from the ring menue where you can find e.g. your crossbow or your bombs as well

After I equip the bell in one of my pockets and then go back into game, my middle mouse button only selects the magical powers...and I can seem to get the middle mouse button to select the item in my pocket...do I have to use the bell from within my inventory screen?

Use Axii

Press down on mouse wheel works for me to equip items from pocket.

2) Press tab and select item
3) Middle mouse button to activate item

naw...It doesnt work for me...I can equip it, pressed tab, put the bell in my pocket but when I go back to the game where I am near the damn goat, my middle button (which is also a wheel) only selects the powers like Axii and the others, I cant get the bell to activate, and pressing the middle button does nothing...
