It was surprising that it had to load (and for a while too) to start the chase, but then when it had to load when you caught him as well and it ended up being an infinite load... well, oh boy.
Definitely needs to be fixed.
Probably all dumb luck and just a lucky load, but figured I'd post anyway
I assume the save games are being deleted, so I can't really try what @PopnFresh suggested...
This needs to be fixed.
Save games don't get deleted unless you delete them. They can however be overwritten, which is likely what you are doing.
Nothing happens in game during loading. Things do however happen from the time loading stops and the black screen disappears.
The wolves were likely near by when the loading started, so between the time loading stopped and the screen going back to normal the wolves attacked. For what it is worth, there is a wolf pack spawn location directly above the camp site. You should always kill whatever wolves are spawned at that location before starting the quest.
"I figured out what was the problem, you have to kill wolfes that are nearby otherwise they somehow kill you during the loading screen"
This works still! Funny this wasn't fixed even in the NextGen update.
