Is there a demo?
I would like to try the demo to see if my computer can run Witcher 3. From what I've seen, the graphics reqs are ridiculous, as I can run Skyrim on high/ultra, and Witcher 3 doesn't look THAT much better.

I would love a demo as well M8...all these problems have given me pause to buy. Alas no there isnt one..funny that.. however the trailers you seen a while back are engine driven..not actual gameplay..Dont be disappointed when you eventually play it and wonder. !

"I can run Skyrim on high/ultra, and Witcher 3 doesn't look THAT much better", you think so?

All of that is captured directly from the game.

Dont think there is a demo available. Plenty of threads on how different cards run the game. Steam's new refund policy allows you to get a refund within 14 days of purchase and less than 2 hours of play time for any reason. You could try it out and if it doesn't work too well request a refund.

careful with that, they could consider that as abuse of the system and jeopardize yourself to get refund on future titles.

From the FAQ on refunds:

Refunds are designed to remove the risk from purchasing titles on Steam—not as a way to get free games. If it appears to us that you are abusing refunds, we may stop offering them to you. We do not consider it abuse to request a refund on a title that was purchased just before a sale and then immediately rebuying that title for the sale price.

Sounds to me that provided you don't do it too often, or more than once on a particular game it shouldn't be a problem. Interesting how you can claim a refund if you buy a game just before a sale and then get the game for the sale price

Yeah, if you're just going from game to game playing a couple hours each then requesting refunds -- a lot of non-AAA games like FTL are pretty short, or you could imagine playing two hours of multiplayer FPSes etc ignoring any single-player campaigns -- Valve will presumably not be amused.

The other obvious form of abuse is that there are apparenty games sold on Steam which use neither Steam's DRM nor any Steamworks features, so if you bought them, copied them elsewhere, and refunded them you'd have a free copy that wouldn't be connecting to Valve servers to be detected. But again, if you made a habit of buying and quickly refunding DRM-free games specifically, they would not be pleased once they noticed.

But "this game keeps crashing on my system" or "the developers badly lowballed requirements and it runs like crap" are pretty legit reasons, as well as realizing quickly that you just don't enjoy it.

Lol actually it does look THAT much better.

The Witcher 3 looks 1000x better than that POS Skyrim, even the Witcher 2 s**ts all over it.

there also a hunter mod thing that lets you edit and degrade the graphics in the game. i cant play the game in about 16 fps... lol but sooo writh getting and playing. great game. oddly i can handle witcher 2 near max settings but not skyrim. skyrim has to be on low xD

because skyrim is a 2011 game.. witcher 3 looks really funky, its nice to look at but looks like a cartoonish game

you can just get a refund within 2 hours of playtime if it doesn't run. That gives you more than enough of a test
