"Level 5" Quest Werewolf Impossible to Kill. Can't Progress Story! (video)
I'm level 7 and the quest is "Recommended Level 5". WTF?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKRPsgUxwZk
I'm playing on "Normal" difficulty.
By the end I was just screwing around because it was obvious that, even going all out with little regard for avoiding damage, I literally cannot damage him faster than he regenerates.
I know there are special bombs you can use, but I'm level 7. I don't even have the recipes for those bombs, let alone the ingredients. This is a level 5 quest, for eff's sake!
Help!

Watching your vid I've noticed you have not repaired your weapons, they degrade on damage if you dont do that. You also have not leveled your skills. I wonder what kind of weapon you are even using? Is it some level 1 sword?

I never had a problem with werewolves, hmm you seem to be doing very little damage, what kind of silver sword are you using, and how damaged is it.

I don't like 'selectively' lowering the difficulty, because that defeats the purpose of playing on the original difficulty.. But, at any rate, I got so fed up that I did that here. Turns out he's impossible to beat on easy, too. Only difference is Geralt can tank more damage while doing the same insignificant damage in return.

And the game is really truly broken if the only possible way to beat an early-game enemy is with cheats.

The weapon is the default witcher's silver sword. Durability was around 80-90%, IIRC. The steel sword was the damaged one. I've leveled as many skills as I could; I only have 3 slots available at the moment.

It was about 50% when you started the fight and went lower as the sword became red too. In any case the problem is your level 1 sword, get yourself something better, loot scales here, go clear some ? or do a contract, you are more likely to get level 5-6 sword instead. I did that werewulf on death march and always could outdps his healing.

fix your silver sword/get a better one. when i left white orchid i had the viper school sword on death march there are definetely better swords out there for you now.

He's annoying if you're not prepared, however, if you unlocked the beastiary entry for werewolves, and have a slightly stronger silver sword you should do fine. If you have unlocked Thunderbolt potion you should craft that, it gives you more dps as well. :) and remember to igni him when you can, the burning negates his regen.

How can you tell this?
And I've never run across a silver sword as loot. I've even cleared a camp of level 15 bandits and nothing.

you should use other signs too...also find a better sword maybe....read the bestiary....also why do you fight the werewolf out in the open,i found him inside a cave?!?!Different paths i guess...Replayability confirmed!!!
The game is not broken, i beat him(after a few deaths)at level 6!

I have no entry for werewolves, and, despite much searching, I have not found a copy of the book on them.

Dont clear enemies much higher than you, you will still get low level loot that scales to your level. I believe I got some relic silver swords as contract reward, looted it from fallen beast.

Still, a blacksmith is your best friend, buy a new sword off him or get yourself a schematics (also from blacksmith) and make one (with materials from the blacksmith lol).

And I can tell because your silver sword is "white" when you start the fight, and in the middle of it, it becomes "red" which means it just passed lower than 50% durability.

Use igni and cursed oil. use dimetrium bomb because it negates all regen from werewolves, hell even samum works when they start the accelerated heal. Also use better weapons, even the viper swords should work. In short.... git gud.
