Jacques de Aldersberg, Ciri, and their relation due to Elder Blood
If Jacques de Aldersberg was a source, and Ciri is the last to carry the Elder Blood, then doesn't that mean that somewhere in their respective family tree, they had the same ancestors who carried the Elder Blood? Was it ever discussed?

Witcher 1 had a lot of plotholes that were outright wrong or just never explained. It's best not to dwell on it too much.
