Why would you want it? it's just gonna kill your fps.
And i want it so i can try and shut it off. Im testing fps
ctrl+f Ubersampling. It's off by default in gameplay and on in cutscenes, though the cutscene ubersampling is in an entirely different config file, "visuals"
On rendering, it says "0" - so i reckon it turned off - right?
On Visuals, it says True - which is on im betting.
Is this suppose to be like this by default?
1 = true
so yes, bear in mind that it probably won't work if you use true/false where 0 or 1 should be used and vice versa.
Yes, by default it's on 0, which is off, for in-engine gamplay and True, or on, for in-engine cutscenes. Chaning it to 1 would be turning it on for gameplay and False would be turning it off for cutscenes.
Why is it not 60 ?
Because reasons, I guess. They wanted cutscenes to look ultra good so they turned un ubersampling. Capping it at 30 would make it smoother since a majority of rigs wouldn't be able to run it stable at much higher.
You can change it, though. I've turned ubersampling off and the framerate cap to 60.
They plan to release though, just not now.
* You can only change the ubersampling option for cutscenes.
* Though you can switch to SMAA in nvidia control panel.
Visual fidelity with ubersampling off in cutscenes isn't a big difference. Changing the framerate cap doesn't introduce any bugs, and cutscenes will properly work at 60, so I prefer it.
Old I know but in RedEngine 0 doesn't always mean off or no. There are quite a few settings where 0 is higher quality than 1 or even 4. Admittedly I don't know why CDPR did it that way...maybe to keep us tweak freaks hunting for the best possible config for years...so I guess it worked because I'm currently working on the absolute ultimate rendering config for 4k60 beyond ultra with absurd draw distances for everything and the highest quality models for everything, TAA with more samples and 4xMSAA...but you need a 2080 ti otherwise it won't run well.
So far with just these ini tweaks I've got the game looking better than it does at 4k ultra with the HD reworked project.
When I'm done it's going on the nexus
