Yeah I'm in the same boat. from a gameplay perspective I love every second of it - but as for story - it's still good, but it feels like it completely cut all ties from the first two games - utterly disconnected. Might be closer to the books - but it really muddied my story experience, having only played the games and not read the books.
Will give it a 90 instead of 85 though, because they put Thaler back in it - he's a "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing" character. :)
Story gripes aside, one of the best RPGs I've ever played - and you could tell cdpr cared about it's production (despite what some say), just look at every little detail that didn't need to be added, but was anyway. And the quests actually feel personal - not just a game mechanic, nor a means to an end.
right now its 7 or 6 out of 10, too many crashes, too many bugs, game breaking bugs, unbalanced, performance is poor even on my top of the line machine, controls too poorly
Playing TW3 using shortcut Road sign will make you loose any small but detailed moment like this. This is an adventure game, the hero will see many event on his road ride. And this game provide story, so damn too much I can digest. (in a good way)
Also, maybe you said there been many re-use of head models to NPC, but, if you pay attention to the voice of each NPC, they have their own color on their language. This game is like Pillars of Eternity. While PoE we need to read much to understand the depth of the game, in TW3, all you need to do is hear it.
