Debug console doesn't work.

I'm having some trouble. I'm obviously working with the steam version. I unzipped, put the files in the proper folder (bin/x64)

The game starts just fine, but I have no console. None. I press the activation key, and nothing happens. Game runs fine, doesn't crash, no start up issues, or anything of the sort. Tried both versions of the mod with no success. Anyone else have this problem, or know what I'm doing wrong? I've tried putting in just the .dll files, I've tried putting the whole folder in, I've tried putting just the plugin folder in. Nothing works. Every time I made a change, I restarted the game as well.

As Dave so helpfully (Sarcasm) pointed out, I may be doing something wrong. I do not know what I'm doing wrong, and if I did, I wouldn't be here asking for help. If anyone here has this mod working with steam, all I'm looking for is how you got the mod working, and from there, I can figure out what exactly I'm doing wrong.

This is another discussion about Debug not working and has some good info.

One issue I had was that I had no plugin folder so I dropped the new plugin folder (with the debug file) into the x64 folder.

Then it would not work for me until I created a new save and exitted the game. I then rebooted the computer and reloaded from that new save. Then it worked for me. Good luck.

I have the similar problem... I tried every possibility and always I launch the game it says 0!=%° 1H/$ or something like this... Someone help me pls

I discoverd, All what you need to do is download the latest visual studio C++ redist from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
Remember to chose the x64 version.
It worked for me and for my friends, I hope it help.

There is no reason for anyone to be using a mod to enable the debug console in the witcher 3. This method works in ANY version of the game. I have used it on several versions...up to and including the Game Of The Year Edition v.1.31 which just came out a few days ago.
1. Go to My Documents\The Witcher 3 folder. This folder is just for storing save game info and settings. It is perfectly safe, and even gets re-written every time you start a new game, or should it get accidentally erased. Anyway, in this folder, there is a text file called "user".
open this file, and at the very top....insert the following three lines in order from top to bottom:
(be sure to pay attention to caps and brackets)

[General]

ConfigVersion=2

DBGConsoleOn=true

After entering these 3 lines of text...save the file, start your game, and hit the tilde key to bring up the debug console. That is it....no mod...no confusion.

This doesn't seem to work for me, maybe it's because you have to press a certain button combination to write a "~"... Is there a way to customize the button to activate the console?

Worked for me. But it was another key. Try some.

I have a little problem with this mod to. installed all fine. most commands work fine. apart from 3 problems. 1 i can't change my char to a different one the command goes through but doesn't show up. 2 if i spawn a NPC like ciri, i cant interact with her/talk to her or any other NPC's/fast travel. anything really without loading a saved game. are these glitches or ? and when spawning npcs do they always have to copy every thing you do ? run and jump at the same time ? because from videos i've seen on youtube they don't and some attack monsters to if you start attacking them. mine just follows around

Yeah, I had the same problem when I played the game and tried that out. Unfortunately I haven't found a solution by myself yet, but I also didn't really google or so, I was just trying different commands out. Sorry.

Try using another key to open the console.
I have to use "ø" to open the console, the same key on an English keyboard layout would be ";"

This worked for me!!! Thank you very much! the MatchesCountError thing still appear though, but just make sure not to press OK on that.

The key to activate the console will also change depending on the country you are in. People usually say it is the ~ key but using the DBConsoleOn=true method given above on a UK keyboard it is the @' key to the left of the ~ key.
