How does one fist fight?
Either it's buggy as ♥♥♥♥ or I can't figure out the controls, Fists of Fury: Skellige is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ impossible, Geralt gets KOd in 2-3 hits, blocking doesn't work, hit detection is waaaayy off and I can't even counter attack.

Any tips?

Try counter attack with the heavy attack, just press right mouse at the time he is going to hit you.

You would parry his counter and your foe would open up the chance to strike back.

dont rush it. all fighters have a pattern. you can see if they going to do their nonstop fast attack or slow hard attack

Block and counter. Just keep in mind most fighter will only allow you 2 hits but champ will only allow one. Just dont rush.

You can't block enemy's heavy attack, so counter it, hit back with your own heavy attack 1 or 2 times then dance back and wait for him to throw heavy attack again.

Always dodge back, if you get close to him he will do fast punches with ridiculous range that will hit you one meter away, dodge back, he will rush at you charging, then you can counter and actually land a heavy punch on him.

Don't hit if the opponent is blocking. Wait for them to attempt a fast attack then counter and hit them as much as you can before they're able to block again (some are overwhelmed pretty easily and you can win if you keep hitting them). If you see they attempt a heavy attack then dodge (you cannot roll). Also, try to hit the opponent from behind, it does more damage.

bait an attack, dodge as soon as you see them starting, dodge a step back and attack with 2 punches, dodge back, etc etc. works every time

fist fighting is more a counter game, you counter there attack and then punish them for it, by using the parry skill. best way i've found to do it.

Know when your opponent start his attack and attack him with a fast attack before he can land his.

That's how I do it.

It's simple. Just wait til the guy is about to attack and hit block, which parrys him and then you can hit him once or twice. Rinse. Repeat.

I usually wait for them to telegraph their punch, use the ALT and S key to dodge backwards and follow up with two strong hits or three lighter hits. I think even blocking results in some damage whereas a complete miss means zero damage.

Don't bother trying to slug it out by mashing on the mouse and using guard. Any more than 2 strong hits or three lighter hits and they just put up their guard and you waste stamina, or you find yourself pushed away and slightly off balance for a second. I'm level 15 and have successfully taken down opponents in the level 20-25 range like this with no sweat.

parry counter side step.... easy as..
risbolla May 30, 2015 @ 11:01am
fist fights are the easiest part of the game. enemies always start with a heavy swing. counter it and hit them with a heavy attack then wait and they'll follow up with another heavy swing. you can beat every fist fight using just two buttons. dodging or moving is completely unnecessary. the only time you want to move is if you push them back to the wall and get too close which will trigger a fast attack from them, just backstep once before you push them into a wall.

if you have trouble with timing the counters just tap the block button quickly as soon as you see them wind up their heavy swing.

My way is much easier.. and faster. There is really no need to counter or dodge. Just attack them with a fast attack the moment they start theirs, you hit them before they can land their attack on you. Then you can attack them 3 times, wait again and repeat.
