Cant reach 2 undiscovered locations in Skellige
I cant reach these 2 undicovered locations i have tried on top of the mountains but they are below and have tried from the monster den nearby but then there is a wall in the cave i cant get through and i can see on the map that the cave goes on behind that wall.

So help would be much appreciated :D

maybe story related area, I assume you have the anti illusion thingie. Have you tried diveing in the lake or of the coast to see if there is an entrance there?

They are related to a main quest. You cannot access those areas until then.

Just a Hint I had to learn the hard way... most areas which have major loot in them or have a place of power you will actually come across in the course of the actual game. So no need to actually track them down like that, unlike the guarded treasure and some such.

these locations can be reached from the sea, at the top of the map is the boat

Can someone expand on this? Exactly when in the quest line does the area open? My seaside door is still a solid rock door. I did all of kings gambit through the coronation. I read this was the trigger, its not for me. I took out the monster den in front of it. Can't get up the ledge in the cave. I have done everything possible except the Gwent quests. My main story line is now at final preparations. This sounds like the end of the line? What have I missed that grants me access to these two areas?

Just continue the main questline, final preparations isn't the end of the line as the name might suggest.

After final preparations you still have some main quests left before the point of no return, i believe you access the locations during those quests.

Yep, you get there as one of the last things you do before spoiler, spoiler, spoiler.
I feel his pain though. I played through on a completionist-file, so yeah... wiki, wiki, bang-bang, lol.

Next time make your own thread. Please don't necro. You will get help no matter what you do...

There is one location in Skellige you cannot reach, unless you take Cerys's path.

HUH? Why does it matter? The question was part of this topic. A Google search brought this topic up first so why not use it? I just don't understand this. Is there a list of steam rules about this?

Nothing Steam-related, but something else: courtesy and common-sense. Old threads are DEAD. It's annoying to get alerts to threads that are months old. You're wasting people's time, you push down newer threads that are more deserving of attention and you're giving yourself a d.ouchebag-badge.
Simple, no?
