Any better gear than the mastercrafted witcher gear?
I am level 43 playing on death march with a fast attack / alchemy build and I have full feline mastercrafted gear with mastercrafted ursine swords. Even with these the guards can take 90-100% of my life in one hit and take 15ish from me to down. Is there any better gear I can get besides the gear I have? I want to be able to give the guards a little revenge!

Are you trolling?

Nilfgaardian guardsman's armor is one of the best I believe, it's sold in Skellige. Regardless, endgame there should be several relic schematics that you find (or that are sold) That will vastly outdo witcher gear in terms of raw effectiveness.

Thanks for the reply! I guess I just haven't found any of these yet. Do you know the city where the guardsmen armor is sold exactly?

I'm wondering, do all witcher gear stop at 30? Do meteorite swords exist in this game? I'm only on lvl 11 atm would be nice to know :)

Is this the armor you are talking about? http://thewitcher3.wiki.fextralife.com/Diagram+Nilfgaardian+Guardsman+Armor
Because I am not sure that is any better than the ursine witcher armor. http://thewitcher3.wiki.fextralife.com/Diagram+Mastercrafted+Ursine+Armor

The one you linked is a diagram for a 28 magical item graded armor, I think he means there should be a higher lvl version avaible for sale, maybe higher item grade aswell (this is just deduction of what is said, I have no idea what I'm speaking about xD )

edit: I also think it is a bit in early in the games lifespan to trust most wikis on what gear is avaible, since they miss alot of items :)

For sure that wiki is largely incomplete I am just assuming what they do have is correct since they are right on the ursine mastercrafted armor.

I assume what they do have is most likely correct to, maybe a few stats or icons are wrong, but that gets corrected fast. My point is that they are incomplete atm :)

I would say that the mastercrafted are the best since you can use skill for the armor which gives insane boost :)
For example for each Griffin armor piece you get +5% sign intensity and something else. Dont remember exactly

But they stuck at lvl 30 and lvl 60 is max so you know, it's like going to fight lvl 30 contract monster with the starter sword and warrior jacket.

Hmm I thought the lvl 60 cap or more will be in the DLCs?? How do you get to lvl 60 anyway?? If u get mostly exp only from Side / main quests....
And I Doubt that there are mobs which are higher lvl than 40. ( mobs dont level up with you )

I am pretty sure you can get to level 70 right now, at least I have seen a few videos with level 70s. I have found a few relics that seem to scale to the level you are when you pick them up. For example I have seen a few people with relic swords like longclaw or devine or the emmentaller all with much lower stats the the versions I have. Sadly none of them are really much better than witcher gear, maybe a few points higher attack or armor value, but much worse effects.

wait, there are no pieces of armor above level ~30?
lavizh May 30, 2015 @ 4:08pm
Nah i think Mastercrafted is the top.
