Question about Ciri controls...
Hello. Have a short question about playing as Ciri. I finished the Bloody Baron questline completely (witches and baron) and am currently in Novigrad. So I played all corresponding scenes with her thus far. But the Tutorial (ingame glossary) states something about a charge move. Does she get that at a later point? Or is it always enabled? And how do you activate it? Does that bar which fills during combat has something to do with it (the one with the exclamation mark)?

Sorry, should be quite obvious but I couldn't find out so far (ya, checked also on google...).

Well, friendly bump. Maybe someone can tell me now?

Yeah, man. It's pretty easy. All you have to do is

You get access to Blink Strike (in next chapters), right after killing Forktail with Baron.

You can cast it with same button as Signs,
Energy refills while attacking and in combat.

When you hold down Tab (quickmenu) you can see 3 slots...1 of them is Blink

It is introduced in a mission. I don't know if it works from earlier on. You can try it out. You have to keep Q pressed (or the key you use for your witcher powers). The longer you keep it pressed the more opponents you hit, max 5.

Many thanks. How do you activate it?

Oh, ok. Thanks again guys. Have fun playing.

Pressing tab brings up the three options, charge attack, amulet and blink, but the cursor is not shown so you cannot select any of the three.
I am able to teleport as Ciri using the same key as Geralt to roll but am yet to survive the fight against the Crones at Bald Mountain.

In the crones battle you should always take out the fat one first. If the others slow you down enough and fat one gets few hits in, you will die. Constant teleporting, keeping distance when damaged until healed up, then closing into fattie and trying to get few hits to her, teleporting away when she starts to swing. Once the fattie dies, other two are just matter of time.

Someone else also suggested killing the fat one first. I watched a video where
they insisted that the fat one should be left for last. Anyway, it is so dark there
I have difficulty even identifying who is who.
"charge attack" as Ciri is said to be a very strong and fast attack but I have no idea how to use this feature.

I think I had to hold down sign-casting key for charge attack (Q by default) but other people say you hold down heavy attack key (SHIFT+LMB). It will show circle which marks all the potential targets, longer you hold - stronger attack. However, I never use it myself for 2 reasons.

1. If you get hit or take any damage, charge is canceled. You have just wasted time.

2. You end up in random position on the battlefield, as you are porting around the enemies. If the enemies are not dead, they will hit you back once your attack ends, so you usually end up taking damage. In crones fight, if you end up near fat one and she hits you, you will lose big pile of HP.

I also think you need enough Energy or whatever the bar shows so you can not just do this after blinking or several times in a row.

Let me try a summary (with illustrating videos) to avoid confusion.

The blue bar - as tonypa said - has to be filled before the special attacks can be released.

If you want to see which special abilites Ciri has then press "TAB" (ingame).

{LINK REMOVED}

1. The "Magic Amulet" doesn't work in this situation.

2. Blink

If you hold "Q" you will see a circle with growing radius. If you activate the attack then all foes in the circle will be attacked - lightning-fast. Often Ciri is able to perform a backside attack afterwards.

3. Charge

The very strong and fast attack "Charge" will be initiated if you press and hold "Shift":

(Both very short videos in slow motion.)

In both cases you may trigger the attack by releasing the corresponding buttons.
