Can't use Left Sword

When i draw left sword in a fight, and after one hit the Witcher switches immediately to the right sword. Why have to swords if only can use one? Other people have this issue?

Steel Sword for human/animals, silver sword for monstahz

I think the game switches to the appropriate sword for the creature you're attacking. ie: silver sword for monsters

monsters can only really be hurt with silver swords and silver swords are useless for everything else. thats why geralt switches to the useful sword on his own.

If you are usaing an inapropriate blade for the enemy you are facing he will switch it. Not too sure why you would want to switch to a more inefective one. You may want to start with The Witcher and then The Witcher 2 before playing the 3rd one in the series. You would likely know this then...
