Best sword in ALL of Velen?
At the end of the contract Jenny O' The Woods, I looted a sword called Forgotten Vran Sword. The swords stats are: Steel sword
-------------------------------------------------------------
82-100 Damage Required level 7
-----------------------------------
+13% Critical hit damage bonus
+5% Critical hit chance
+10% Chance to stun
3 empty rune slots

I then added three Stribog runestones each with +2%chance to stagger,
for a total of +6% chance to stagger.

In combat, 70% of the time the first hit stuns the enemy with the second hit initiating a badass instant kill finisher. This sword is insane.

I'm about to change the difficulty and try it out and see how effective it is.

A lot of things that you fight with Steel Swords you can't do finishers, like bears.

Also, I realize the stats are not impressive, but in combat it kills instantly. No contest.

It was the best weapon in W2.. In W3 nope, crafted swords are much better

Also, it's a steel sword. Damage output between steel and silver blades are considerably different. n00bie pls

There are a couple of steel swords that give 75% critical damage bonus which is swell for horse riding and taking bandit heads.

Ok, apparently I have to clarify lol. The thing that makes this particular sword better than others that clearly do more damage than it, is it stuns then critical finishes the enemy. If you can stun an enemy with the first or second blow, that's clearly a huge advantage.

Which is only high % wise on green bandits.

You can't finisher animals like dogs, wolf, deer, rabbit, bears, wargs.

You have very low chance to finisher red or red skull bandits, guards, other human.

You can however ride horse and run these through like a pro, no matter the level difference. The sword with % crit damage up is much better for this purpose.

it's not bad. That said, any of the witcher specific crafted gear will be the best thing you can get, period.

Have you upgraded your witcher swords? They all have multiple upgrade schematics that enhance them to scale up stat-wise
