Enemy Lock On
I'm playing the PC ver; with KB & M controllers. My issue is despite having no key selected for enemy targeting; my character continually orientates himself towards the nearest enemy during combat; regardless of what I'm doing with my mouse and direction keys. As an example: I've gotten in a good strike; inputted a 180 turn and hit run/sprint..............and my guy is still backing slowly away from the oncoming enemy, while facing them. I am constantly having to wrestle the game for control of my character during combat! Double u T F!

Is there anyway to turn this lame **** off?! TY!

Unfortunately no. Dark Souls 2 handled the system much better, personally. While you're in combat mode you're also unable to jump and mantle objects which while presumably intentional (to stop players climbing on objects/structures and crossbow cheesing every hard fight) it can turn small things obstructions like a rickety wooden fence into the Great Wall of China.

don't use lock on? You dont' need it to fight effectively. I even unbound the key for lock on and I'm playing on deathmarch

There's soft-lock and hard-lock. Soft-lock lets Geralt switch targets easily and is better for groups. Hard-lock gives you extended lock-on range and doesn't change enemies at all; it's better for single targets. Either way Geralt will face the general direction of the enemy if he's in combat mode.

It's hard to initiate sprinting when you're in combat mode. Compared to Dark Souls where it's just a matter of unlocking targeting and sprinting away, Geralt needs to back-roll repeatedly until he's been given some space. Only then will he start moving his legs.

I hear ya OP. I get a little frustrated myself when the game decides to attack the flanking enemy when I just want to swing at the guy in front of me and then roll out of the way of the flanker. You could activate the target lock while hitting the guy in front of you. That might prevent the 180 and then deactivate and reactivate as necessary.

Thanks for the replies! As I thought......................I'm bleeped with this system! Game plays me in combat........................not the other way around! I always save just before combat, so I'll have to stick with repeated play throughs, and unChristianly language! DDOOHH!!
