Crossbow Bolts?
I have found few weird bolts and they seem weird to me. Why would I need "Bolt with Bait" or "Tracking Bolts"?

I'm wondering the same.
My guess is they come into play in monster contracts at some point. I tried shooting a bait bolt into a bandit camp, but no monsters came to eat them :'(

Tracking bolt can be used against monsters that teleport i.e. Wraith, Nekker (burrow underground), Drowners and Hag (dive into water/swamp) etc.

The lack of tutorial pages for these kind of things is kinda odd.

I use the bait bolt on foglets so i can spot them easy. Becuz the bait bolt emits a red "smoke"?

Apparently, you have to actually hit someone/thing with that bolt for it to attract nearby Monsters.

No way, it works?? I just tried dropping a bolt in the middle of a group. After four tries I gave up.

Well, guess I know what I'm doing tonight!

Been a month since you said you were gonna try it out. Anything come of it?

It was bs. They don't do anything. I spent hours trying various things and never once did they do anything. (except release a visible red cloud)

They're either completely broken or they require some usage so specific as to be worthless.

I recently used myself as a bait bolt when a High level leshen sent OP wolves after me ._.
I bolted into a Soc'atel camp where they graciously agreed to help me fight the wolves that were now eating them instead of me. Lovely guys, really..
Then I ran back to the leshen to fight him in peace^ Bait bolt success!

I used the bait bolt to unlock enchantments . As part of the quest, you need to go into a cave full of arachnomorphs above level 30. I used the bait bolt to lure them away from where I had to work on, and managed to unlock the runewright while at level 10.
