ESCAPE key to exit menus?

Is there a way to set it to get out of ALL menus and back to the game istead of one UI? Also it seems bugged somehow, like I press ESCAPE and the focus just shifts between menu items, particulalry in INVENTORY menu.

Agree, this is incredibly annoying.

Hit the same button you used to enter a menu to exit, i.e. if you hit i for inventory, then hit i again to resume the game. Don't use Esc unless you want to explore other menus.

dOES NOT WORK! I reassigned INVENTORY to F1, pressing twice does not open close, only open

The game is optimized for consoles - i have little problems using a gamepad.

Yeah but it was also sold for PC, and I dont have a gamepad and dont want one. Being a console apologist does not help. Upvote this ♥♥♥♥ and send to devs, this is simple code ♥♥♥♥.

I will not disagree. Until recently cd projekt red seemed to be a great PC game company - until they converted Witcher 2 to consoles and then they saw $$$ and went for that console $$$ and assumed the PC version would not be effected.
