Lord of Undvik *Finding Folan*

If anyone has done this already, is it possible to save Folan at all even after completing the armorsmith quest before hand? or was Folan supposed to be in the same cave as the other quest itself at the same time, is that why I can't find Folan at all?

Or if anyone knows where to exactly find Folan, i'd like to find out if I can still finish this with before defeating the ice giant

If you mean getting the tools, I did that long before I ever did Lord of Undvik. Same general area, different cave.

Ah yeah I figured it out, but I think I did it in the buggy way of finding the main guy first before Folan, so now whenever i enter the ice giant area its on a never ending load screen, also ends up with me dying within the loading screen everytime have to reload a earlier save i guess lol

Ok... so I did find Folan b4 jarls son, he actually becomes your companion for the rest of the quest and helps out with giant... when you are at that tower crossroad with lots of tracks ,you need to follow tracks that are going north there you'll see that there were 2 ppl archer and another dude... when you find another dudes body next to a cave entrance go inside play riddles with trolls or fight and you can save Folan.

Yeah I did that on my save, but then it tells me to go to the river and he wont follow me at all, and he doesn't even move from the caves start, so the quest cannot update i guess. I think I was supposed to free him before finding Hjalmar

I think I confused teh game. I just arrived on Skellige and wandered to the troll cave after speaking wit hthe guy in the boat, except I did not have the mission to find him. So now I have Folan but no mission to bring him on, what am I missing?
