[Spoilers] Why are there no new Witchers being trained?
If there are so few left, we only see 3 that aren't Geralt in this game, then why don't they start training more?

And also considering that Vesemir is dead and Lambert and Eskel decided to leave

I would like to know this as well. No where did they explained why witchers are not needed anymore. The countryside is still teeming with monsters..

Expecting someone to say "Read the books"

By the start of the first book, no new Witchers have been trained for decades.

Spoilers:
Kaer Morhen was all but destroyed by a mage-led mob, and almost every Witcher therein was killed.

I'd have thought they made a group decision to avoid anything like that happening again.

So they'd rather their kind just died out?

Also, the only way to train new witchers is to effectively steal children.

That's kind of a dumb decision, no? I mean if monsters population are declining, then probably that'll be a good move..

What would happen when all the witchers are gone? Would be an interesting plot for a sequel here. 20 years, after the witcher 3. All witchers gone, the countryside overpopulated with monsters, humans are going extinct since they can't defend themselves from hordes..

Parents would deposit their children at Kaer Morhen to be trained. The Witchers would also rescue orphans.

The child-stealing myth is one of the reasons the mob attacked Kaer Morhen.

Well, they'd all have to be killed. Witchers live for centuries.

I'm not a peasant in a poverty-stricken, disease-ridden feudal society who'll do anything to give their child a better life, if that's what you mean? :)

Didn't all the grasses potions get stolen in Witcher1?

Maybe they thought that they could start training again after a few decades, or a century or two? They do live for a long time, and people tend to forget one bad thing when the next comes along.

Ha, sorry I wasn't mocking your point. Just the term "deposit children". Tickled me

Although I wouldn't consider being a Witcher a better life than being a farmer or fisherman or something. Sounds bloody awful to me.
