Stuck in small pools of water

I've had it happen about 5 times now, falling in a small pool of water and having no way out of it.
It's the most frustrating reason to have to reload your game.

Happened to me in a swamp. Still managed to fight out of it but the fact that you can't jump when you have your feet in the water shouldn't happen since it would avoid that kind of situation (I also got trapped in a hold of a half sunken ship as I couldn't jump to the stairs to exit once I had my feet in the water).
