The controls. Dear god.

I am Hating these controls so much.
He's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slippery on controller, but combat is easier.
Combat is an absolute chore on Keyboard, but navigating is easier.

I'd rather play a game like this on Controller all the time, but Geralt moves like a tank with the worst turning circle since Resident Evil.

I don't know if i'm just being whiny, but i think the Controls in Witcher 2 were better, or is that just old nostalgia speaking?

Controls in witcher 2 is definitely worse. I don't get why people have a problem with W3 though, i love the M+KB controls. Maybe it's because i remapped the dodge and sign buttons to my extra mouse buttons?

I once found myself using the wrong keys when walking backwards because I expected him to handle like a car in reverse as well as when moving forward.

The controls are a touch unresponsive on the menu-ui for me. I've gotten use to the combat quickly-enough; though that might be because I've played games like Bionic Commando 2009 and Batman AA without any problems on M&KB.

The only thing thats bothers me. Is that I cant custemize the M+KB as I wish, since some are locked.

M+KB is good but the dodge key is really far so it makes it hard during combat and the controller seems to have some input delay which is why controller is not the best for navigation

Now that I remapped all the controls for my right hand on Keyboard (left handed here) it plays really well..Though it was a huge chore editing the standard locked set they had.It would be impossible to play otherwise.
Wish they would give PC players a proper patch to give total remappable Keys and easy access through the UI.Stuff having to go through many folders to get to a file and spend an hour changing over a 100 commands.Not everyone is able to understand how to change this file.

controls are ok. Remap them of course, seeing they did not think about the PC controls much. I was able to rebind most of the buttons over my mouse and keyboard. I don't know why people have such a hard time with it.

It's better than witcher 2. And the controls with a controller is good, i didn't try it with keyboard.mouse and probably not going to.

Remapping the controls doesn't magically make Geralt have a better turning circle, lol.

yea its an awesome game.. except for the controls noc pathfining and clunkie battle system... hopeing a modder will fix it.. like may did for skyrim

Controls are perfectly fine with M+KB if you have a good gaming mouse.

I have a logitech proteus and i map my dodge&roll to the middle mouse button tilt left and right and i remap my strong attack to numpad 0, with this setup i have very good combat controls.

I also have a gamepad and i try it and it so imprecise that i revert quickly to my mouse&keyboard.

With M+KB now i can win horse race.

I've found the alt and spacebar dodges very easy to use, not sure what peoples issue is. I have noticed using the lock on in combat constrains my camera and movement to much so I never use it.

Played all 3 Witchers and every game that is remotely like it and the controls are fine. Mouse/KB - remap and have had no issues.
