I'm trapped in Novigrad - how to get out?

Hey there!

When you enter Novigrad from southeast there is this inner thing which you can't enter just by walking. So I jumped in there over the roofs. Unfortunately I can't seem to get out of there anymore. Can't find anywhere to get up to the roofs again and all the doors are locked - including the one in the basement of one building that looks a bit like a cave. I guess you are supposed to get in there that way a bit later.

Does anyone know how you get out there again? Or am I trapped there and have to restart now?

I'm talking about the place where all those beggar king subordinates and a sorcerer hang out. There is a door with a doorman that seems to leed out, but I can neither talk to the doorman nor can I open the door. In fact the only person you can talk to I found is a merchant that sells things "you can't get anywhere else in Novigrad".

Youre supposed to get in there through a questline which opens the door, youre probably bummed, load an earlier safe.

had the same in valen when you have to face the bandits from the baron, entered a house with a peasant who decieded to lock us inside of it... lol the witcher starved to death trapped in that house.

Borked, most likely. Load an earlier save. Rule of thumb: save often, in multiple slots. In this game particularly as some story choices "lock out" stuff (who lives and dies, that sort of thing), May want to explore the "other" choice on occasion.

I actually got myself stuck aswel there, however, I did enter that area using the front door. I think it was bugged, because it was open and i could easily walk through it, however when i went through the door, the door was already closed, making me stuck there. '

Did you find a way to get out? or did you have to use an older save?

Go upstairs, you will see this looking up right when you leave the stairs:

You may need a few tries, but Gerald will climb up there. It's easy from then on. Just go outside and find yourself a way down the roofs wihoud jumping too far down.

thank god, did you know the merchant there (main reason i got in there in the first place) sells a 100 capacity satchel for your horse? i only had a 30 capacity before that.

you just saved me 30 min + 30 min of trying to escape and an increase of 70 carrry capacity!~
