Cave of Dreams quest failed retroactively? *POSSIBLE SPOILERS*
So I completed the Cave of Dreams quest where Geralt goes on an acid trip with Blueboy Lugos. Got the reward, showed up under completed quests, and even talked to his father about it afterwards.

But once I started the quest where they choose the next King in Skellige and they get attacked by bears, the quest shows up in a new category in the quest log under "failed quests." I get how this could be effected if a player didn't finished Cave of Dreams beforehand as Lugos dies in the process, but I had already completed the quest.

Has this happened to anyone else?

same, I actually went to a previous save to complete the quest before the king one. However, the quest still fails either way once you complete the quest for the king. Even if its completed, still shows up as failed. Bugged out
yep, same here. fought eredin flawlessly and got the xp and stuff, but then in kings gambit it sudden;y comes up in the failed category.

Yeah. Me too. Ruin my 6 hours of progress. So there is some quest or some place to explore before do "King Gambit" quest? May be "Cave of Dream" have something to do more. Like "Novigrad, closed city" quest.

Same here. I guess it's a reflection of the fact that Blueboy Lugos dies. And the point of the quest was to secure(save) the heir of Madman Lugos. Since he's dead, the quest fails. I just checked, it fails automatically fails once you begin the King's Gambit quest I think it's called.

So, is there supposed to be a way to save the runt while you're having a conversation with Crach? Tbh, I liked Blueboy more than his father.

I really doubt it. The whole idea is that all bar three contenders for the throne are killed. Your next choice determines who gets to be on the throne.

He survived the feast in my game, even came to Kaer Morhen later.

Well, as far as I can tell, it could be tied to the Lighthouse contract (with the Penitent). A friend of mine managed to complete the Cave Of Dreams before the Lighthouse contract and the Cave Of Dreams never failed for him, while I did the opposite (completed the Cave of Dreams after the Lighthouse) and the quest failed during the king/queen's corronation.

If someone want to test, please tell us the results ;)

I was wondering why the quest falied after I had completed it.

Does it really matter if it is marked failed? Do you lose some achievment because of that? I had a few quests fail. Just shrugged and kept playing.

Achievement-wise, it seems to be no big deal, you'll lose nothing (AFAIK). Still there may be consequences regarding the 'quality' of your ending I suppose, though I wouldn't expect to miserably fail the main storyline because of that : after all, that's only a minor side-quest.
