A Greedy God Quest
For those who have completed it. You know of the quest. For those who haven't, just leave now if you really don't want to spoil it for yourself, its not a huge quest by anymeans but still.

So the creature they were worshipping was a Sylvan, were you guys nice and threatened but not kill it? Or just kill it? I checked the info on it afterword and it said its not a particularly evil or hostile monster and was extremely rare, so I chose to spare it, I found it kind of a funny comedic creature in a dark game.

I just did that quest. I chose to kill him. Those two villagers didn't like that I did it, but I felt he got what he deserved.

I chose not to kill him and he backed down pretty easy and submitted to your demands... told the villagers to take a peek below afterwards.
Maybe, but he HAD been living there a long time it seems already :P. And I just found the creature kinda entertaining, and I just find it refreshing to find the creatures that seem intelligent and not all that hostile. I usually let them live if they choose to speak to me first, of course with some exceptions :P.

I didn't kill him because there wasn't any money involved. I don't usually kill passive monsters unless there's a reward for it. It was nice to see they're rare and not usually hostile afterward.

I told the 2 people to go down into the basement and I waited a few days just standing there watching but they never went down to check out the Sylvan. I am very disappointed.

I let the poor creature live. Look at his flimsy small body. Who would harm such a small creature. Living in dark nasty cave thingy and eating peoples food. :Geralt:
Ashyne go read a guide for that questline to see what happens if you tell them to check :P. I think you have to leave. Then come back.

So the peasants went to check the Sylvan and got killed by it?
Supposedly yeah. I didn't have them check on it. I just have a habit of going and looking up a quest once I make my decisions. Probably not a good idea if I want to playthrough the game again with fresh choice ideas but....its a habit of mine :P. I hate not knowing what I didn't pick.
didnt killed it. i just made him take whatever they give him. also i mentioed to them there is a tunnel . so i guess they will drive him away anyway.

Didnt killed him. As someone said above, In general I dont kill passive monsters too.

At first I didn't wanna kill him cuz he's sentient and not inherently evil, but there wasn't an option for it to move away and not bother the already poor village, so I killed it :D It not having the slightest care for the villagers made it easier too.

Everything lies in this game. I can't be there to police the world 24/7 so I just dealt with it permanently.

Personally, I let this fellow live after he promised to go easy on the peasants until the end of the war.

He seemed harmless enough, his bestiary entry mentioned that they mainly just play tricks on humans, and the peasants seem to genuinely believe that he improves their lifestyles...so hey, why upset everything?
