*of swords and dumplings quest* won't trigger

i was suposed to meet the smith at the docks after dusk, but i was doing a different quest when i met him in a cutscene by accident so when he asked if i was ready, i said no ill be back later (so i could finish my current quest).
so i wanted to do *of swords and dumplings* right after my quest was finished(it was dandilion quest) but now it wont start the quest.
Anyone els have this problem? cuzi think its glitched becousei said no when i met him on accident.

The same thing happened to me.

What I did was go from the warehouse to his shop. I ended up running into him on the way. Look for the anvil on the mini-map as you run around that area.

I broke mine because I didn't immediatly go see him at the upcoming time he wanted me to arrive and did other stuff for a few days.

All I wanted to do was sell but he had to give me quest first.

Same thing happened to me. I ran into him at the docks by accident. talked me out of it for the moment. Now he is not there any more after dusk. FIX: You just have to visit him again at his home and talk to him. He will be upset that you didnt show up, but then you can trigger this event again. Works normal...

This quest is still glitchy. Just now on NG+, I run into his shop, turn around and back out and the quest was added without even talking to him!

After carefully analyzing my actions, I came up with a solution to bypass this. I spent a lot of time trying to fix the dialogue using other’s methods. To no avail, I did what made sense to me as a programmer. If you revisit Hattori, you’ll have the option to meet up again. It took me awhile to get him to show up at his house. When you meet him at his place, make sure it’s not dusk. So meditate to midday beforehand. Then take a trip to a completely different map. On PS4 you’re going to hit triangle to do this. Anywhere other than Novigrad/Velen. Meditate until dusk (I think I did 6pm), then come back and wait. He should walk up and automatically trigger the cutscene. If it doesn’t work immediately, try a variation and maybe make sure you’re on version 1.60 or higher.
