They really are not, they are just realistic.

My only gripe with it is how some armors don't even connect to the swords ( or vice versa) causing the swords to float behind your back.

Towards the end of the game you can easily find some nice armor sets, just a matter of finding them

I've been playing for 44 hours, I'm lvl 17 (playing on normal) and I'm still using the Temerian armor set (the dlc one), because all the other ones I've found are just ugly (better, but ugly).

All the armors (at least the light ones and some medium) make Geralt look so.. puffy, or rather simply fat. Why are the no sleak cool looking armors (at least in the light section).

The DLC Temmerian armor set - Where do you find it? Or do they just give you the plans for it and you have to craft it, or did it just pop into my inventory and i have not noticed (i was having some red wine last time i played),,,

And i think the armors look pretty cool :)

was very disappointed with the ursine armor. I mean it looks like light armor, medium at most. The black nilfgaard heavy armor is really nice, haven't come across anything as good looking unfortunately. I do like the heavy use of gambesons which is pretty accurate.

Yeah ok it's green, but looks much nicer than the regular stuff.

Too bad the green one is 'heavy armor'. That's what irks me. There isnt a piece of plate on it, just cloth and leather and a few spikes. so metal.
