It's a pity you can't just kill the crones or burn their tapestry.. or something. Dope the wife and carry her off..
That was the first idea which I think of it
Sadly they left into the mist and I can not do a damn thing.
but make one choice and there will be consequences
Do you guys want to know my ending, don't want to spoil it for you guys. Let me know.
This is the first time that I am really regret the consequence of my action even in the game.
I thought I was doing the right thing by letting the evil spirit go.. then it was free and it then became blatantly obvious it was an evil spirit..

But I never thought to talk to daughter first then do crones quest before reporting back to baron, I'll need to redo game at some point. Alot of interesting alternatives.
The Baron is not a good man, so I didn't want to talk to him before getting a chance to talk to the daughter.

SPOILER!!!!!

I kill the tree, it was evil. I then went back to Baron after meeting the daughter. Both Baron and his men and his daughter and her witch hunter came down to Downwarren and into Crookback Bog to rescue their mother. Fought a bunch of Necrophage and then a Fiend. Eventually save Anna and Baron swear he a change man. The Witches never show up. Baron walk Anna away to get help knowing someone that may be able to cure her. If i had made the wrong decision, he probably would end up killing himself but I couldn't do that.

Happy ending, or happier ending.
They were alive in my playthrough. Choices matter.
how is the tree spirit evil? i haven't done it yet. but to me 3 witches sacrificing children hardly makes them seem like white nights. also whats the difference between doing the quest then finding the daughter or finding the daughter then doing the quest?
I found him dead. Suicide because of his wife that was also dead.

Usually the order of the quest you go to matter. Not all the time, but sometime. The tree spirit is evil cause it kill people at least in the village of Downwarren.
and killing peasants is worse than sacrificing children for demonic rituals?

Wow.. seriously.. hmm.

Yup this game is all about choice and it effect the outcome. So much replay to be had with this game.

However you guys ending sound much more funner. I'll be the bad witcher on my 2nd playthrough. I'll make the world burn around me!

Me too.
Damn, that quest was harsh. I decided to save the kids. I can't help myself when kids are involved. In my game the Baron committed suicide as well. Next playtrough I won't save the kids. I love this, even the side quests are incredible.
To add more tears:

If baron commits suicide you will find a doll near him. Probably he was holding it before he died.
