go with the other option, the botchling can be quite difficult to defeat on low levels

For wraiths ... use yrden + specter oil.

I'm only level 3. Its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ impossible, even with the second option... I used up all my food before and now theres no way for me to get anymore since i'm locked in the mission. F.CK

Sigh i'm probably goign to have to go to a less recent save, i've wasted so much time on this one mission, its so brutal

Yeah it can be quite hard... I pissed blood on the 2nd hardest difficulty and took like 5 tries until I beat them all

Isn't it like recommended level 6 or something?... Yeah, go explore, do some sidequests and get a few levels before you retry it.

Playing on Death March, I found that I could avoide all dmg by making surer Quen was activated. So I stopped using it. I still finnish fights against multiple opponents without getting hit.

Learn to dodge. Or lower the difficulty.

For the Botchling quest, pick to turn her into a Lubberkin.
IT WILL SAVE YOU SO MUCH WORK.

The wraiths are quite easier considering the Botchling is a Boss.

if you choose to change her into a lubberkin, youll have to fight 2 groups of Wraiths, be careful as they love to pile you all at once. I've found the best method for this is before you start the quest, brew any oils/potions you need such as specter oil.

I play on DeathMarch and am Level 6, I completed the quest with Swallow potions and Samum Bombs I did not use any oil as I did not have the herbs required for specter oil.

( i dont know if loot spawn is random for every game but I found a better chest plate where you dig up the botchling, if you loot the sacks on the side where the pillars are, it helped a lot giving me up to 20+ defense more. as well as a new saddle)

Once you meditated to restore all the potions or oils you need to brew go to the botchling choose the second option, walk with the baron and cast Yrden, if you are lucky the wraiths will normally teleport to you and be put into physical form, throw a Samum bomb to stun them, pick a target and use light attacks only to kill it, this will give you enough speed if one breaks free of a stun you can jump out of the way.

Do not lock on to the wraiths this is a bad idea when fighting in a large group as they love teleporting behind you, and it can be tedious to switch between them I've been hit multiple times by being locked on to one wraith and another showing up behind me.

Another tip is to stun them with samum, throw dragon breath and use Igni, if you have a high igni sign level + added runes to your weapons combined with the dragon breath it will do a lot of damage.

I do not advise the waiting game with Wraiths in large groups, as people suggest to learn and dodge them and take your time, wraiths love teleporting, and if you give them the chance to do so you can end up dead from a false move.

Yrden, Quen and spectre oil are your best friends. Don't be too offensive. Try to cut them off one at a time. Roll often. Even igni is effective somewhat.

Swallow and tawny owl are useful too.

Go back to an earlier save and level a bit.

Thanks guys, I did spam alt dodge and the shield spell but eventually 3 or more wraiths wills teleport around me and I'd lose half my health in 2 to 3 hits. It's strange how side quests aren't optional in this game and we shouldn't have to tweak difficulty settings in such an early stage of the game!
