Where can i find or buy ergot seeds?

I think I bought some from the herbalist in the first area. Left side of the map. The one whose sister was sick.

Just looked at a map of white orchard. I want to say the "forest hut" waypoint. Should be a map key for an herbalist in that area. Keep in mind, merchant's items have changed for me between conversations. If you don't see them the first time try talking to her again, and then again. They may show up!

I found out that the ´pellar next to blackthought village sells it for a nice price

Skellige, main island, Druid Camp (the one next to place of power), herbalist. He had good amount of the seeds.

I never bought anything from any herbalist and I have one ergot seeds in my inventory, so I got it somewhere (level 45, now impossible to tell where). Anyone got clues?

Wiki says it doesnt grow anywhere, the one you got could be probably just looted as random spawn in some container. Or bought by accident.

There is a nameless merchant in Novigrad (on the small island where the Baron lived) that sells Ergot Seeds; the merchant is NOT a herbalist. To get to that community, fast travel to Crow's Perch. I purchased his complete batch of 5. I went around selling my many items to an armour AND came back to this merchant and bought another batch of 5! All within 10 minutes of real time.

I found the item in "Refugees camp" waypoint. It's the second "?" from the midcopse waypoint going left if you haven't unlocked it. It's the same herbalist as the @genova84 mentioned

Ergot is a mold that can grow on grain stored in a silo that has ♥♥♥♥♥♥ damp. The "ergot seeds" in game aren't harvested from a plant, at least not directly. Pretty sure you have to buy them or loot them from containers.

An interesting aside, when ergot moldy grain is eaten it has something like an LSD (acid) effect (you can see god...) and is believed to be the cause of behavior attributed to medieval witchcraft.
