Looking for a new silver sword
For a level 7 with a Steel axe that does the same damage as my standard witcher silver sword, I can safely say I'm sick of this piece of junk. Are there any good places to get a new silver sword?

if you do contracts you wil get silver swords. i already got ~3-4 really good one. but omg those contracts are hard to do. since you are level 7 or 8 vs levle 12. this the only way to get upgrades for a silver sword.

As far as i know you can upgrade your witcher sword with silver ingots. But havent seen any silver sword yet.Guess either we have to craft it for ourselves or i need to play more lol.

This is most definately not the only way to get upgrades for silver swords for example look for a ? southwest of Crows Nest area in the water has a relic silver sword there. Many diagrams scattered throughout the world to craft your own then theres the griffon/viper sets also.

Just near Fyke Island, you can get a fairly decent silver sword (at least I remember it being a silver sword), with 3 sockets in it - at least mine has - dunno if that's random or not.
It's in a chest, under water, near a small island with a little ruin on it.
When you get to the small island, you'll get a notice that there's hidden treasure nearby. If you loot the chest and corpse on the island, you'll get a note stating that there's another chest in the water.
Use your witcher's sense to show where it is.
There can be drowners down in the water, so just hurry down to the chests and loot all and then get away :)

It's a sword with orange text (Can't remember their quality name..) and fairly good. Should be for your level (or near your level at least).
Found it a bit earlier :)

tagger, while submerged you can use your crossbow to instantly kill any drowners that come within range ;)

Oh.. Did not know that.
Didn't even think of using it, since it does f***-all damage regularly :D

Thanks for that - will pass that on to friends playing it as well :)

of course . But i just gave an exmaple of how to get one. i think i got 1 silver sword from that island too. really like that story line of the island. dark so dark the horrors in that building.

It really is a game made specifically for exploring every little inch of the map :) There is just so much stuff you wont ever find by just doing main quests and even side quests. There are a good ton of places ive found to do stuff that wasnt quest related nor had a ? there or anywhere near it lol.

also the side quests stories are really good. i never wanted to listen to every line in a game and read every book until i played TW3. its just drawing you in and never let you go. great game. Most get GOTY !
