Plague Maiden

When you get the spirit lamp from Keira, you visit an island with a tower and hear to the story
of Annabelle the girl at the top of the tower.

You can chose to trust her and bring the bone outside or distrust her. I chose distrust because she kept lying or having inconsistent statement, so I assumed she was the monster/curse haunting the island

turn out I was right and she transform into plague maiden

Now here is the deal... I try to fight the plague maiden.

She is hard as nail. I thought the quest was level 6 , but nothing hurt her. I tried silver sword, igni, etc.... I must be missing something because i quickly get killed. She poison me, has insect clouds which slowly advance toward me. Igni kill the clouds but they severly reduce my dodging possibility.

I barely do 10 damage... Did i miss something ? Some sort of trick ?

Try using Yrden

Yrden is the best for Wraith type monsters.

then use Quen to defend from the first attack, and use dodge/roll.

Yrden traps make spirits including the plague maiden corporeal, so that then they are susceptible to your silver sword. Same principle as wraiths.

Necro Oil and Yrden. The Bestiary is your friend.

never mind the solution was sooooo in my face..... And i learned how to defeat a bunch of other monster to boot.

I feel a bit dumb too but that's what learning the blinding obvious sometimes do to you.

To all who told me yrrden : thanks in fact I learned that by reading the bestiary.... Which I ahd forgotten was giving me good hint on how to kill monsters.

Well.. Bestiary has it all :P, you should always check it out when you have new information on new monsters or forgotten some :).

Pretty much the only difficulty changes in this game are the 2 higher difficulties require you to read the beastiary, the easiest 2 did not. lol
