first quest spoiler -- I noticed something I shouldn't have. (read on)
So, after killing the flying thing (first quest) , I went back to The Black One's (leader?). He ordered a peasant to receive 15 lashes. Following this, I heard the lashes although a locked door didn't allow me to see the peasant being whipped. I found a spot that allowed me to see the peasant -- turns out he wasn't being whipped at all, I was just hearing the sound effect of the whip and the voice actor saying his lines.

Things like this ruin the immersion or the world that is being created. I hope I don't run into a lot of this.

Maybe you were supposed to think that he is being whipped ? Maybe the guy was working with the black ones ? Maybe it's all a plot against you and now you know it ???????

Keep it quiet and WATCH YOUR BACK

Yeh they should have spent time animating the lashing, increasing the video lag around the area and all because a tree dropped in a forest but maybe made a sound.. because you weren't there either.

If you weren't supposed to see it, then your complaint doesn't exist. Nor does it matter if a tree makes a sound or not if you're not there to hear it.

Ha, not at all. There are stairs above the locked room. Whilst on the stairs above, you can see into the locked room.

I don't understand what you're saying in your introduction, but for the second part, sure, you don't have to see it to know what's going on. But curious, I was able to. It's not a complaint, rather an observation from a meticulous gamer.

Good on you for trying to make sure he was okay. Sucks it wasn't a sequence the player could stop from happening. I reloaded like six times trying to find that key.
