The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Statistiche:
How to do a finisher?
When ending combat sometimes, I'll see Geralt stab someone through the chest... then it kind of slows motions while it looks like he's going to lob his head off... but doesn't. Then the guy falls over. I've tried hitting quick attack, power attack, etc, but can't get him to lob the head off.

Anyone tell me what I'm missing here?

stab in the chest is a finisher so is decapitation
Why not ask the mod devs? They surely know what their mod breaks and how to use it.
AFAIK finishers are automatic in vanilla, but you can increase their probability with certain elements like tropheys or skills that literally tell that they increase the chance to kill an enemy with a hit.

You need to use aard to knock them down and walk up to them and press square on PS4 or press X on Xbox. If the enemy isn't knocked down on their back you will only do a normal finisher when doing a succession of combo attacks.

Note: you must WALK up to then. Running up to them will result in a light attack instead of a finisher. You will see the prompt then the enemy e.g. human or harpy is knocked down.

That's Coup de grâce actually, but yes that is how that is done. I believe the OP means the occasional dismember, decapitation and the like. I believe what animation is played is random/position aware but to get them my understanding is critical hit/fatal hit. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

Ya as BB said they are random, I believe based on percentage (some of your gear can increase the % of a finisher I believe) - there are mods out there that will make it a finisher or dismemberment every time if that's what you're looking for, though.
