Monster essence and eyes??!

Anyone has any idea how to get them, I've been killing monsters for a while and still cant find any.

Any help will be appreciated.

Ghouls will drop them. Perhaps drowners but not so sure about that.

EDIT: Essence at least, not too sure about the eyes. According to a forum post nekkers as well. And remember to check the dismantle options at craftsmen, they'll often be able to dismantle items into more basic versions instead of the monster specific version (as in, nekker eyes into monster eyes)

I might have been wrong, seems like it was monster blood, not essence that I picked up from a ghoul. But the nekker thing still holds though. I'm not sure yet where you'll find nekkers but judging on their past appearances as low-mid level enemies, I'm guessing you should encounter some in the velen-novigrad area by just roaming around - perhaps some monster nests. And remember, even if you get specific types of essence or eyes, they should mostly be possible to dismantle into the basic "monster" variant. I only just recently arrived in velen so I'm afraid that's the extent of tips I can give.

You can break items down to their components at blacksmiths/armorers.

I'm pretty sure its the last tab when you're looking at their shops etc

You can break any eye down into a monster eye. So say you have 2 nekkers eyes you can make them into monsters eyes. You can do this with all your junk and crafting items. It does cost you though so probably just do it when you need to. You will also be able to get the essence doing this provided you have the right stuff to break down. you can also get a lot of other useful stuff this way like all the leather scraps and strips and stuff you need for crafting

I will try and break down the monster blood that I got and see what comes of it and let you know. :)

I tried dismantling the blood and I got monster blood and bought some essence from a merchant and dismantled it and got monster essence. :)
