Bug Main Quest "The Beast of White Orchard"

It seems that I'm the only one but I've got a very annoying bug in the game. I cleaned the entire area of White Orchard before doing the quest "The Beast of White Orchard", but when I go to the Nilfgaardian commander who give this quest the objective "Ask the hunter where he found the body" appear then disappear immediatly and is replaced by the objective "Search the griffin's nest using your Witcher senses". Could it be because I found the location of the griffin's nest before activating the quest ?
Also when I go the quest log I can see the objective "Examine the site of the Nilgaardian soldiers' death using your Witcher senses" marked as failed.

I will probaby have to restart the entire game after 10 hours... I really hope they could fix this, I love this game but this is really bad.

Also unlike many people I succesfuly managed to do the quest named "Dirty Funds" but it does not appear in my finished quest. Like it never existed.


Anyone else having such bugs ?

I second this. Im having exactly the same two problems. It seems youve played the game like myself and you started exploring the entire area before continuing with the main quest. Both quests suffer from the same problem I believe. Dirty Funds is a quest that you can finish over at the mill, but the truth of it is that you can start it at an abandoned bandit camp further east of there. In the camp there is a note that leads you towards the shack close to the windmill, and thus, since you already finished the quest, chances are its not correctly showing it in your quest log as finished. this one isnt as annoying, as I had the satisfaction of having finished it, but the one from the main quest, its irking the hell out of me. I cant knock on the hunter's door, therefore I cant continue on with that part of the story. Im gonna continue this save as it is because my guess is there are gonna be a few other bugs like this one and Id prefer to stumble on them nowand continue later on a perfect run, but hopefully its a bug that can be fixed. Saying all that, congrats to CDproject on yet another great game.

Thanks for responding, I was turning insane by this, especially because it seems that it's a pretty rare bug, you're the only one beside me who have this problem. It's exactly what I did, I just wanted to explore the map first but I guess the developers don't want us to do things in this order.

I think you're right when you say that it will not be the only bug like this we may encounter. But since I only do my game only one time I think I probably wait for patch, I send a report to this page http://en.cdprojektred.com/contact-support/ , you can do the same if you want, maybe they will look into it faster. Yes it's a great game but it's very annoying, even more when you know they already push the release date to get rid of bugs. I would prefer to play this game later without bug like this even if it's mean wait a little longer. (Sorry for my english, I'm French).

Hey. Same problem with same beast in future quest. If u will find king griffin's nest before taking quest, quest will stuck on phase "talk with merc Hans". U talk to him and nothing changed. U cant yolk to him any more but quest still asking u to talk to him.

Just to say, I found the grffin nest before accepting the mission and was able to return to it and examine it as intended. My mission completed as normal - So that's not the break in the mission. I wonder what it is.

When I 1st came across it I didn't examine it. Not sure if it would allow that at the time as I'd not accepted the mission.

yeap same with quest on gipogriffin in 35 lvl. If u stuck with dem mercs. Just go and kill grifin by ur self.

yeah, same with "The Creature from the Oxenfurt Forest" if you don't speak first with the Mercs, the Quest will glitch out ... strang eis that there is even a Dialog Option that says "i already killed it" but it will not finish the "speak with hans part" and then stuck at "any progress?" with a single Dialog Option being "i will think about".

Also there is a secondary Option in that Quest where you find another Contractor and then if you speak with the Merc Hans you will have a Option to get higher Money, but the Problem is you need to speak with Hans before else it will glitch, but again to get this secondary you must have visited the Location of the Monster and kill it, because you find the Papers of the other Contractor only then, so fubar Quest that will glitch.

I was there first, killed it, found the Papers and then speak to Merc Hans, so i got the Option "Killed it already" and the secondary "found other Contractor" and "what about more money then now that i killed it" everything alright but then all Dialog Options vanished, no reward, Quest stuck at "any Progress".

I don't know what cause the glitch, perhaps the secondary Option, perhaps you simply need to speak before, but then the secondary makes no sense...

gosh i know this is an old post but i just ran into this exact same issue, and now i'm pissed because i missed the 350 exp from the hunter etc etc. this is really a stupid design and definitely bad because it deters me from ever free roaming again, ever, in an OPEN WORLD game smh... they don't have a QA team or what ? it's such a basic consideration that in an open world player could and will almost always complete some side or sub quests' requirements before hand, but this??? THIS??? can't even get the reward if i don't follow the main quests first ??? how is this open world design ? if it's a bug it's a bad game, if it's done on purpose it's even a worse game, period. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. i'm so pissed right now why am i keep playing
